In 2019, Mayor Chad Spence and Randolph Eastern School Corporation (RESC) superintendent Aaron Black sat down to discuss their goals for the City of Union City and RESC, two of which are to further enhance the educational scope of RESC and to revitalize Downtown Union City as a symbol of Union City's economic resurgence.
Spence and Black have worked hard since 2019 to make Vision Corner a reality. Vision Corner has weathered many obstacles and challenges but has continued on the path and adapted as needed. Because of the Vision Corner team's progressive mindset and ability to look forward and think outside the box, both goals are within reach, with the opening of Vision Corner set for Spring 2024.
Union City's progressive mindset has also sparked collaboration through regional partnerships with Reid Health, Ivy Tech, and Ball State University. Spence and Black view collaboration as the key to Vision Corner's and the community's success.
